Bold and strong are the same. I use bold since it is less characters and the processing speed of your code depends on its character count. FYI, strong isn't new in HTML5, it's been accepted syntax since the early days of 4.1. The same goes with italic and emphasized. They are exactly the same. But like the previous posters said, use theses tyles in your CSS, not the HTML.
