What is the purpose of C++?

As the title states, what is the purpose of C++?

C++ is a very powerful language, and has several different purposes. One of the more popular uses for the language would most likely be for scientific research, models, etc. Because it is such a powerful language, it allows for computers to perform complex calculations that would be harder to perform otherwise, making for a great option in that field. Another one of its uses includes game design, more specifically game design with Unreal Engine. UE is an incredibly good engine as it allows for games to include much more realistic physics/graphics, and the main language used for scripting with it is C++. It is an excellent option if you want to get into game development, and several larger companies even use it to develop games. The last use that I can think of for C++ would be for A.I. development and machine learning, although Python is also a viable option for that area.
