It depends also on the Phyton version you are planning to use,
but:

-a solid book also suitable for beginner is "Think Phyton" first edition for version until v2 (http://greenteapress.com/wp/think-JUMP_LINK__&&__python__&&__JUMP_LINK/), second edition for v3 (http://greenteapress.com/wp/think-python-2e/)

-for a more in-depth and advanced look I really suggest the official documentation for all the versions (https://docs.python.org/)

-I also heard good things on this book but I never personally read it (http://www.diveintopython3.net)
