What all can you do with Java?

Question

Next year I'm taking a 10th grade programming elective and the only language they offer is Java. I know Java is powerful, but what all can you make with it? Thanks, -Hugh

1) serverside
twitter switched from rails to java as it handles requests better

2) desktop
you can build desktop apps with it, even making it pretty with fxml (where you can use css for styling)

3) mobile
android apps can be built with it

4) pretty much use ^^_

Java is used quite a bit in large enterprise level apps and also android apps. It is currently the most popular programming language in the world.
