So I Just googled software roles for Telecoms

and the over whelming response was C and C++ which is not a surprise to me.
However I think there is a lot of activity in M2M and SaaS and so you probably need to know about JSON ,JavaScript and NodeJS.

exactly, because it seems that in the next years the Network Administration will BE automated and managed through progtamming
