Why would they recommend a friendly challenge and make it impossible to do right after finishing your first lesson?

I received an email because I just completed the basic concepts of C++. It recommend a challenge mode to practice my coding, but then game me impossible questions to answer dealing with finding the solutions to different operators. I barely figured out how to do operators, yet it's giving me no time to even try and solve these questions which forced me to just pass my turn every round for 7 rounds basically. Is this to make you realize you don't know anything, or to genuinely help you practice and learn?

I just tried a second one, just to see if by chance it was the random opponent it matched me with that made things so difficult, and it helped having someone my level. Yet, it still gave me questions I've never dealt with yet, and it still gave me questions without having enough time to answer them (regarding prefix and postfix)

They are probably random from the course as a whole, not tailored to only the pieces you've covered. I've never done one before, so I'm really busy speculating
