C++ has very rigid syntax rules and you can easily do something wring, but as a result the finished program is very error proof. It has been developed for a long time and therefore it is very advanced. It is openly available, unlike java which is owned by oracle, so there are compilers for almost every platform. Unlike other languages it is not specialized or geared towards certain tasks, so you can do pretty much everything with it.
