Wannacry is a pun off a virus called wannacrypt. When you get infected with the virus it starts encrypting all your files that your computer can access including network and flash drives. Then it will tell you to pay a ransom in bitcoin to get the key to decrypt your files. These types of viruses are called ransomware. If you want to make money programming you should be making software that adds value to companies. Then convince companies that they need your software.
Inventory management systems. Lots of companies have to control their stock somehow so an inventory management system is a nice way to know what is in stock with having to go check it manually. Things do tend to disappear so maintaining proper access control to stock can be added to the system. Reporting is important we can make break downs on stock seasonally or monthly. These reports help management make decisions on what gets used more during which times of the year. We used more coffee during winter than summer so we should stock more coffee during winter and during summer we stock something else.
Billions go into warehousing every year if you can write software to optimise the usage of a warehouse so we only keep what we need and just a little extra for when something unexpected happen then you can save a company thousands and earn your share of the savings.
