Termux with Hacker's Keyboard on Android 8.0.0 with German layout: There is no @-character. Where is it? How can I activate it?

Tap and hold 'Q' (on my install, in German mode, it shows as a black @ in the upper right-hand corner of the key).
Many keys in HK have tap-and-hold extra characters. I think these are enabled by default... if not: it's enabled in settings.

@ Kirk Schafer
Thank you very much for your hint. That is the solution for my problem! :-)
[this is all typed only using "Hacker's Keyboard" on my Android Phone]
Only disadvantage is that I have to use a magnifying lens to be able to recognize the little characters on the small keys of this mice piano on the 5"-display in portray mode.

Try alt codes
hold "ALT" + type "64"

"Hacker's Keyboard" is an Android App. I assumed this was familiar to some people.
The normal Samsung Touchscreen keyboard does not have ctrl-keys, and if you connect to a Linux terminal and want to use the editor "nano", like I do on my Raspberry Pi, then you are not even able to save a text and exit nano. And to send e-mail or to use ssh in order to connect to another server, you have to use the @-character, which is on the Samsung-keyboard, but not in Termux, and that is my point.
Now I have to switch between both keyboards, but I find this a little bit weird.

oh my mistake I thought you were using a pc, even though android is in the question.
edit: try using a english setting then.
Keyboard settings for my device I currently have english and spanish.
I can switch bettween them.

Manual
That does not work.
If I type the following keys in a new line in Termux:
alt #green light on alt-key goes on
6 #green light on alt-key goes off
#=> display shows: (arg: 6)
alt #green light on alt-key goes on
4 #green light on alt-key goes off
#=> display shows: (arg: 64)
And how does the story goes on?

What do you mean by "hackers keyboard"?
I have a German keyboard on android that works fine. But I'm not sure what hacker keyboard means

J.G. I believe the keyboard Jan Markus is using physically does not have the "@" key.

using shift also? I'm not sure what termux is, so I don't completely understand the question

I do not know wheter it is due to the German, but try to turn your phone 90°. It should open up a full keyboard. There is an @ duplexed in the 2.
