Im looking to build my own website to showcase my skills to employers, what would be some good architectures to follow?

Use as many languages as possible, do both front end and back end yourself, try to implement graphic design for a sharp yet modern look. Most importantly take your time, debug, company's will go through your entire site to find errors.
