Is it possible to program with the monitor off?

This seems like a stupid question, but it's been a while since I've been feeling discomfort in my eyes and I've been trying to slow down my use of the computer for some time. Then I had the idea to code with the monitor turned off. Anyone here already tried to do this? It is possible?

just use an old computer and code using punch cards, those don't even have monitors so you needn't worry about even accidentally turning them on!

Try finding an IBM 2741 clone that works on modern systems.

you could in theory, but i don‘t recommend it, you could use a screen reader like blind people. have you tried flux https://www.google.com/search?q=flux&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-b or similar programs? or maybe computer glasses? do you have the right distance from the screen?

Marcus Xavierr have you tried looking out of the window or something semiregularly(like every 10 to 15 minutes for 20-30 seconds)? your eyes need to focus on far away objects regularly
