Are trivia games overdone?

Given that trivia games don't necessarily need graphics, do you think they're overdone by beginning programmers?

why does it matter? there are just not many projects a beginner programmer could do and any project a beginner programmer could do is irrelevant anyways.
its important that beginners get practice and triviagames are useful for that, they teach about file io, random numbers, loops, if clauses and can be used later to teach about databases and gui design
