RAM is a volatile memory which is used to store information temporary. Meaning that if the power is completely shut down, Any unsaved work or information will be erased and not be stored in the hard disk. For example: if you are using android you may know the "RECENT APP" tab. The recent app tab is stored in the RAM. AND when you press "CLEAR ALL" all services or informations from an app will be erased from the RAM. The more memory a RAM consist. the more services or background processes can be stored in it.
