Ryan Sullivan (Suvan) PHP is a back-end web development language, if you are serious about venturing into game development, then you should consider more serious options like C++ or C#

PHP is completely useless for games(native or otherwise). HTML and CSS might(emphasis on might) be useful for UI in games but I wouldn't waste my time with web technologies. C++ is the language to learn for gamedev. All major game engines are written in C++(UE4,Crytech,Frostbyte). If you ever want to make your own game engine, when you becomd adcanced enough, you could check out OpenGL.
