What qualification should i have to select Programming as my career?

I'm nearly at the point for a crucial choice for my life.My lecturer suggested me to study BCA & MCA. I also want to , but dunno if a degree in Computer Application can be enough. Any help?

College isn’t a bad option, there are many oppritunities for students and recent grads. That said lots of people are going to project driven “bootcamps” which is a great way to learn.

The college route has it’s advantages but if you go self taught or bootcamp remember that projects and even better actual apps/sites/tools/etc(your preference) that are published and possibly being used by someone is one of the best ways to show your skills.

It is good to also study things like algorithms and advanced data structures.
