Hi, good luck.
Tip one is don't worry to much about what language you choose to learn first. Many of the basic concepts are transferable although there implementations may differ.
Tip 2 don't give up when it gets hard. Take a break and then try again. You might find that you approach it from a different angle that helps you to understand it.
