Can we serialize transient marked variable in Java?

Question

Assume we are having a transient variable. In Java transient modifier makes sure that the marked object cannot be serialized. If in case you want to serialize transient marked variable, is it possible? If so how.

Tobias Hallmans With transient modifier also we can do serialization by using externalization.
