Why doesnt <!DOCTYPE html> work on sublime text for me when i add the html file to chrome to make my website?

when i type the code into sublime text, it shows the code on the chrome website page, i tried multiple variations of the code but the result is the same,how do i get the doctype code to not appear and work, am i just a noob or is there a problem?Thanks.

i copied and pasted different ones and none of them worked for example the main one i used was on html references

whenever i save it to the html file somehow it doesnt work , but it works with notepad ++, but i prefer sublime text as you dont need to type the extra code. any ideas?

Does atom and VS code work on windows 8.1? And what about Android Os?

im using code writer from the microsoft store, and its working perfectly fine for me. atom and vs code areant as good as code writer in my opinion.but u shud still try them all its your personal preference and yes it should work for windows 8.1
