It depends from the country. There are countries that introduce programming to school in the early grades. In some other ones, it is almost never learnt. About the question, I agree. Programming is neccesary to school. I doesnt just help them become coders in the future, but it also helps them think more logically.

Hmm... Yeah I guess it depends on school... one thing for sure is that word, excel and access should be in school as obligatory subject.

Nowadays our surrounding with so many devices and mostly some form of intelligence or microcontroller based. All these devices require some programming for proper functioning. So learning programming at the school level eventually will be given important.

I don't think programming should be taught as obligatory school subject. We learnt some basics about programming during our ICT lessons in our school and nobody expect 2-3 IT guys didn't like it. Now, after summer holyday we were supposed to programm anything to refresh our knowlage and NOBODY (expect those 2-3) didn't remember anything about programming. Programming is simply to sophisticated to be raught as obligatory subject.

Yes it should everyone has to learn how to code because by 2050 the world will be occupied with computers that will require people who can code to make them useful in the industries and at home. visit www.code.org to learn more about why programming should be introduced in schools or made better..

Hands-on activity is one of the best way to learn coding. I try to code our lesson in statistics and showed it to my blockmates. They were impressed and at the same time we are learning other subjects.
