Do you recommend college to become a pentester?

So I am currently in high school and I've really set my mind on becoming a pentester and would love to learn how to but I've been struggling to decide wether I should really just teach myself or go to college (which probably wouldn't be helpful) what do you think?

the reason why is because I kinda feel pressured by my parents on going to college because my parents really do want me to go and I wanted to go until I realized that I can study myself without having to go which most pentesters did I believe

do what you feel you need to do, but remember an objects rest tends to stay in rest, if you wait too long to go to school, you might never go and it is easier to keep the momentum rolling from high school into college. the best thing you can probably do is find a tech related job you can not only do, but grow, learn and thrive. Plus, some employers will pay for your school.
