As far as I'm aware a software tester tries to find glitches and exploits in a software to report these to be fixed, or they can be freelance bouty hunters that's basically do the same thing but it's not a perm job. As for how much they get paid idk. And youd have to be decent at programming and know where to spot errors in code or the interface of the software. Which would come mainly with experience

i mean whoever the person is, since his job is to find glitches, means he'll be well grounded with the language, hence looking for bugs like u said because he probably can do better or something
