I'm interested in pythons rise to dominance in machine learning and data science? Why and how?

I'm mean Iv read because of a very healthy eco system brings a lot of libraries created for it all disciplines of matches and stats. But I mean java seems to be just as popular as an all purpose language? So is it chance or were there pre curses that set it up for success.

I think it boils down to Python's ease in coding plus the numerous libraries out there. Which also happens to be a reason why JavaScript is trying to make an entry too.
