"add text to an image" can have different meaning. Can you provide an example of what you are trying to achieve?

So I have this program that takes images from a file and modifies them when I change the code. I have to present two modifications and I want to add a line of text to a photo. Possible saying Merry Christmas. Unfortunately I don't have an example, but it's basically a plain picture with a message or sentence added to it. Does this make sense?
