Can we program hardcore games with Java? If no, then which language is used? Or if multiple languages are used ?

You can program games with any language. The most commonly supported language for games is C++ for a couple reasons but Java is more then capable. If you're looking to get into the business, C++ to start, otherwise go with what you like. Once you've got the hang of one language, picking up another becomes much easier. Really can't go wrong
