How long did it take you to learn C++?

C++ is my first language and i'm taking it slow. I've been working on it for 2 months. Do you think quickly reviewing the information and then revisiting it or taking time with each code to absorb it is better? How long did it take you to learn C++? How long do you think is a fair amount of time to learn it?

I would say 4 to 6 months of time and you are done with the reading, but you may not completely be able to understand how it works ,so i would suggest to learn it at your own pace, and i do prefer my own pace, thats all from me, Have a good day buddy!!😉

I hate the answer I'm about to give but there's no other: It depends. It depends on time you put daily in programming, on your will to achieve the mastery and your ability to be consistent with learning. I'm constantly learning new things and I use this language for over 5 years. When it comes to effective learning, just create projects. Not like calculator because it's too simple, but on the other hand do not make it too hard so you can actually finish it. Make a few projects and you'll see that the more you create the easier it gets ^^

Ky Ly It depends on many factors. Learning a language is one thing...And actually, mastering it is other thing!

Even Bjarne Stroustrup the founder admitted he hasn't completed learning it since it's birth in 1979..so completing learning here is relative. If you mean to help me solve the problems that I had in hand, it took about 3 months. C++ is a giant beast that you don't wanna mess with.

It may take about 4months to complete all lessons but it is not enough to understand deeply. In my opinion, C++ is the most basic language and difficult to understand. Practice exercises and write sample projects to improve skills. So, I'd like to suggest you to take long time in learning C++. https://www.quora.com/How-long-did-it-take-you-to-learn-C++

First learn the concepts and syntax then practice that imediately because practice is the key to learn any programming language fast!
