Anybody good at Oracle APEX, 5.1?

Question

Any body up to speed on Oracle APEX 5.1? I've got simple problems that are beating me down, & I need discussion and mentoring and a way through immediate problems.

No doubt, someone will see immediate problems that I'm just blind to, and it will be a trivial solution for them. I've fallen so many times, I'm staying down more often.

IR, with 3 main record functions: Create new, Edit existing, and edit new (copy existing record to new record ID).
The first two work, using built-in code. My attempts have been failing for many weeks.
I could really use the help:
IR on Form. Need to copy record friends to form, as if it's a new record -- #ID# is null do when user saves, a new ID and record are created.

I've busted every way I've tried, and I'm a month over due asking for help.

I'm drowning in blood, sweat and tears. Please.

I've not worked with Oracle Apex. However, I am curious if you ever got your issue resolved.

If you still need help, I'd be willing to lend you a second pair of eyes.

LOL... What are your core tech stacks?

JoeSponge "Data" would be a bit vague for a tech stack.

However, an example for a "data" tech stack could be Oracle DB + APEX.

Other examples would be:

C# + ASP.NET Core WebAPI + MongoDB + ReactJS

or

NodeJS + Express + MySQL + AngularJS

or

Java + Spring + OracleDB

or

Android Native + Kotlin...

Hopefully, you get the point. 😉

No, I didn't get my issues resolved... I wound up being a lot less effective than I needed to be, for a variety of reasons.
I think it would be a good tool for future work, but my attempt fizzled.

I'm working on resume updates and looking at other positions in the company while waiting for the govt to recompete the project. You don't want a historic documentary novel for a resume. Closer to a speculative science fiction short story.

That's a good question. I don't know that I've ever considered skills as stacks. I've always considered them as discrete things.
This provides an interesting perspective.
Is "data" a stack?

I've mainly been working in "whatever it takes" for a project, and haven't considered stacks.
Legacy app conversion from MS SQL to Oracle, using PL/SQL for processes was about techniques for translating, differences in platforms, data models, verification, benchmarking, error correction, optimization, tuning, data integration, ETL, ... I would have gone the other way also.
More was about approach to processing, workflow, approaches...
It wasn't about "design, develop", which would have brought some benefits and some downsides.
The project was presented "in current state" - being mostly converted, but with problems.
Customer interest was "it this car on the road", without addressing elephants on board.
I came on to fix broken down ETL
processes, refractor code, fix that
annoying thing where the radio won't play in 3rd gear and three of the tires are bald, and the brakes shoot speaks. The fourth tire remains flat and in the back seat.
