Online info access

Question

I want to write a python script to access a certain database online and download certain part of information. I want to be able to do this to save time for work as a scientist who frequently needs to access a protein database and copy certain information down for my work. Where do I begin? Please point me to the right direction. Thank you.

you need a script language for this, maybe python, js and the likes will be a good start
