Any idea about retrofitting CMS?

looking for a content management system that can be used to code the backend of any website (static) to make it editable by retrofitting it to the design...

I have worked with a couple, some are based on .net, some MVC and others PHP. One of my favorites is Umbraco and it's open source as well

I have used CouchCMS before. What i like about it is that it is lightweight, unlike WordPress. If you have a small website or blog, I will recommend you to use CouchCMS. The process of installing it is easy as well. I was able to install it on my web hosting with mysql and php (https://www.cloudways.com/en/php-cloud-hosting.php ) support using just a composer command.
