What are key things to learn about a prolang as a beginner?

I am the type of person that one I get the concepts of any given subject, then I feel like I have mastered that particular subject. As a beginner programmer, I understand that I won't be completely familiar or comfortable with a prolang, but I wanted to get more seasoned programmers opinions on what part of a prolang I should focus on to build that solid foundation because so far Im loving the journey of learning the languages and I want to get to a point that I can start making projects on my own. Thanks!!

I was told to learn as much as I can in the data types and how to implement them. I haven't heard anything else.
