Anyone else have trouble memorizing all this info?
Am I too tired to remember what I'm learning?

Doing exercises, brain teasers, coding challenges, anything that stimulates your problem-solving imagination

trying to memorize it is just a stress on yourself, put this things in action and check em when you need to use em, with time you will get use to it and won't need to memorize

Don't memorise - you're "learning" the wrong way.

Memorise codes, cannot write code well.
You can write codes by understand it, not memorise it.

I am brand new to coding. What's the best way to understand it then?

Kyle Powers The best way is using repeatedly what you have learned (doesn't matter if you didn't understand it well, that comes with practice and trial-error methodology). Our brain needs time in order to process the new information. If you have learned one new trick keep practicing it for a couple of days until you feel comfortable with it.
It's like riding a bike or skating: we don't have to remember what foot goes where, we just do it,. Our body and brain have that knowledge in there if you practice enough.
My recommendation is to do a few programs with everything new you've learned: if you have learned about "for loops" do a few programs with that, the complexity of each program is up to you. On this point is when most people get stuck, it is all about hard work and almost everyone hates working.
So, get serious if you want to learn, you can do it.
...and don't forget to have fun, the things you can do with programming are very fun and interesting.
Happy coding!
