I like Eclipse because it's lightweight, simple doesn't have too many bells and whistles

You might try IntelliJ which is more RAM heavy, needs a decent PC overall but it has lots of improvement and features, better refactoring etc

Others well known IDEs are NetBeans, BlueJ, Dr Java etc
