The use of SVG on your personal website is completely your choice.
But there may be clients who request SVG.
So it is still good to learn.
If you are not understanding SVG. Try a different tutorial.

Images take more spacey , and svg has better resolution. Also, what coordinates?

x, y, x1 y2... just like graph, and I don't understand the polyline and polygon creation.
