Suggestions on the order of learning for a true beginner?

I've always been fascinated by computer science, and finally feel ready to delve a bit deeper into coding. I was wondering if someone might be kind enough to offer some advice on where to start. I am a COMPLETE newcomer, and know nothing. PLEASE HELP!!! I'm guessing C++ is the place to start, but I feel like even that may be jumping ahead a bit. I'd like to begin on a solid foundation. Is there any material you might recommend reading before even starting, or is diving right in the way to go? (Thanks in advance!)

If you're starting as a hobby, C# or C++ are quite high level languages, requiring you to do more than Python for example. If you try C# and it's too much, have a go at python. Java and C# make applications, html, php and css make webpages, sql makes databases, have fun :)
