Why don't we have a general forum area to discuss programming related topics?
It would be nice to have a more segregated discussion area as opposed to what we have now, where we could discuss new occurences in the programming field as well as just chit chat about the strengths and weaknesses of preferred languages. Now i know we all have our own feed we can post on, but its not the same, because only followers see that. Im not going to pretend to know much about managing posts from a programming standpoint, but my idea i feel would be relatively simple, just chamge the q/a header section to forums, and then have some basic subforums such as q/a, language specific, general, evolving technologies. I just started learning python after years of java, and i just wanted to make a post saying how awesome it is to be able to assign a function to a variable, and have dynamic lists, maps, sets and tuples, and also not have to specifically mention every type that a variable is or that a method returns, but i dont have that option on a wider scope to incite a discussion with many more people.
