Why is HTML5 named HTML5?
So, is there a HTML2, HTML3, and HTML4. If not (most likely) why is it named HTML5?

HTML5 is the last standard of HTML, in general. When we make a website, we have to do it with the standard of HTML5(supposedly, sometimes old habits and laziness kick in).

@Vasilis Karapas so, is HTML5 the LAST version of HTML or is it the CURRENT version of HTML? If it is the current version, will Sololearn upgrade its last module of the HTML course?

Probably because it came after html 4.x, 4.2 from memory.

@Vasilis Karapas
What I meant was, if it is the current version, when HTML gets upgraded to maybe HTML6, will Sololearn upgrade its last module to learn HTML6? But thanks for all the info!

CeePlusPlus Actually, in the HTML course there is a section about HTML5 and the new features that are added. The course starts with an older version before getting to the HTML5 part, which is not a big deal since there still are websites that are being created with HTML4. As for HTML5 the major changes that have kicked it are new semantic elements, some APIs, the declaration type and the styling. In HTML5 all styling and content alignment should be done in CSS. These are the basic changes, there are other fun parts but I'm not gonna go into detail-don't wanna ruin the suprise.

CeePlusPlus I'm not sure about that. Maybe we'll have to install an update for the entire app. If this does happen, the HTML course will not be the only thing that will change.
