Try typing the code in your own 'words'. You'll automatically make some things different so you can improve it easier.

It really depends on what's lacking... but here's a basic diagnostic: 1) is it too easy or too hard? 2) is it too long or too short? 3) what audience are you targeting? 4) how are graphics? 5) is the game clogged with sprites or does it need something new? Good luck on polishing it up :)

Only make thing when you are motivated to. Otherwise just don't, your code will never be as good.
