What language can you recommend for process automation?

I'm currently trying to learn Python, because of this topic, but I want to know if there are other options I should check out as well.

Martin Taylor You've piqued my interest. 1. What kind of company do you work for that uses 3000+ robots? 2. What languages are used to program these robots? 3. Are you involved in robotics programming yourself?

Christopher Aguilar What are you referring to with automation? Are you referring to test automations, automated deployments, setting up server environments, automating some development workflow, home automations, etc? Depending on your answer, anything from Python to shell scripts to Powershell to Ruby to Javascript can be a good fit. For devops related purposes, you can look into Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Jenkins, Team City, Octopus, Travis CI, etc are also good to be familiar with.
