How long does it take the average person to learn how to make their own website from scratch?

it takes a lot of time to master it. but you can get some minimum stuff in place very quickly . like betwen a few days or a few weeks.

Depends on working of your website.
If you are making a dynamic website then you need to learn PHP, HTML, CSS & Javascript. But with simple HTML & CSS you can make a pretty good looking site.
Start with HTML then CSS & Javascript & then move on to PHP.
It took me around 1 and a half months to build a dynamic website with a MYSQL DATABASE

I appreciate your answer! I'm brand new to coding so I was expecting it take me a whole year to learn the different elements that go into a website
