cin.get() reads in input, including whitespace. e.g. char c; cin.get(c);
Can also be used like this:
char c[40];
cin.get(c,40,'e');
Reads a number of chars with a terminating character. c doesn’t have 'e'.
Keeps 'e' in input stream.
