I used the blink property for text decoration and it wasn't effected. Why?

It's not really supported, it doesn't have an obvious point.
But still, it's not that hard to imitate it:

.blink {
animation: blink 1s linear infinite;
}

@keyframes blink {
0% {
opacity: 1;
}
50% {
opacity: 1;
}
50.1% {
opacity: 0;
}
100% {
opacity: 0;
}
}
