I wouldn't agree on the fact of python replacing JavaScript as these are entirely two different languages with different functions and (maybe) few similarities. JavaScript is a member of the web trinity which means it plays a very important role in web development. Python on the other hand, with the help of the django framework, is used for back end development and therefore can't replace JS.

JS has a monopoly on web development, which Python cannot take over.

It is a matter that a lot of people keep asking questions about "Do this language have a future, can it replace that language" etc. Each language have its unique works, sometimes we can say that the language is similar to another, but it is never correct. It may have few similarities, but it is also unique. Python is moreover used in data science. Javascript in developing purposes. You cannot say that i draw canvas graphics by using python instead of javascript. Python and JavaScript both are important, there is nothing like REPLACEMENT.
