As long as u get educated on what u wanna do its useful. You don't need to go to college to get good and learn programming. High education might be useful if you are required for a position you want but other than that no. So in my opinion it really isn't, unless ofc you wish it. Good luck :)

Do you mean formal courses? Online learning can also be higher education.

It depends upon you. If you want to start with earning early you can get a job. Or if you have passion for what you're learning and learn more about it then go for higher studies.

Well, school at least in mine teaches slow so I don't think it's really useful because my knowledge in Java which I learn at school is most from Sololearn and Sololearn isn't the end of learning

I am a Software Engineer, and i will tell you what is needed for programming career.
1. Curiosity to learn new things.
2. Problem solving skills. This is because programming is all about Understanding things, and overcome all the problems you face within YOUR designed application. It is this time where your solving capabilities are tested.
3. Programming language knowledge basics. I mean ... This is obvious. Otherwise everything is useless.
IS higher education useful for programming career?
NOT At All.
Companies will check your knowledge and analyze how useful resource you can be for your company. This is not at related to high education. Because, even if you have 95% of achievements but no programming knowledge or analytical skills then your higher education is absolutely useless.
It is YOU who will be responsible for your success, and not your higher studies.
Hope this helps.

Programming is a profession so I think, not any highly education required or useful for doing programming.

I got a 9/10 in c and 8/10 c++ and it wasnt easy...few people even passed the exams....if u tell me to code a complex programme on any of those 2 languages I can't....its completely different what they teach u from what a job needs...but to be honest i am pretty sure I know a lot more technical stuff from someone with a working experience...so it depends....do u want a job early and get paid a decent amount of money school sucks...but if u want to get deep in programming and understand how every single transistor works higher education is the way to go

If it is not programming related (as mine) then no 😀 otherwise I believe you got some knowledge at least so it's already good/useful. 🙂
