When you want a sentence as output,why do both <p></p> and even nothing gives sentence as an ourput

why do both <p>. </p>. as well as *even nothing*
works to display a sentence. i.e. why is para tag not necessary

Browsers are pretty tolerant so they will do their best to display anything that's available.
