College and Coding

I’m trying to learn coding in order to stand out on my college admissions, do y’all think it’s a good idea?

Learn because you want to, not because someone told you to, not because you want to stand out in the crowd. Why? if you're doing this for a reason other than your own will you may find yourself in a hard time should your goal was out of reach or worse, you fail. Besides, how do you know you will stand out in the crowd? what if the crowd doesn't care much about coding anyways? 😁 As a side note, I feel this topic will be more suitable in your Feeds post, it is an open ended, opinionated type of question, anyone would give different opinions.

Depends on the subject but learning coding is useful even for people doing seemingly complelely unrelated subjects as it will teach you rigour and new ways of thinking
