if I want to be a game developer what type of code do I have to learn if I'm a beginner?

You're at the right place.
Just follow the slides, answer the exercices, search for help(Experts do that too), practice and take lots of coffee.
By the end you'll be confortable to read others code understand it and you'll be confident to write your own code.
