If you want to create a cartoon you don't need a programming, but if you want to create a game... You need to learn language which you like.

Unity is a free engine for developing games and animations. Many short films and many AAA games like Temple run and Assassin's Creed were made with Unity.

It uses the language C#, it's what I use to make my games.
