Eye care

What do you do to take care of you eyes? As a programmer, I need to sit on my PC for long which strains my eyes.

take more breaks. five minutes every hour. I wear glasses with a special coating which is made for working with computers. I don't really know how to explain it in English.

I think it's called EMI coating. most vendors offer this, so yes, you should be able to get that online too.

Try setting the screen color temperature to warmer. Warm colors are more relaxing for your eyes.

So many useful advices here. I'd suggest from time to time to put your palms onto the eyes so you couldn't see any light (palms are slightly crossed) but can hold eyes opened under your hands. Thus you'll see absolutely nothing in the darkness...and keep silence for a 20-30 sec's. It is very useful for recovering the eyes straight and relax from the pc.

My monitor has an eye saver mode which reduces colors that hurt eyes. It becomes orange-ish and immediately relaxing. You can work comfortably even in compete darkness.

I also suggest during breaks, looking at very far away and then to something very close. It is a workout for eye muscles that get lazy by looking at the same distance for a long time.

If you can't look away from the screen frequently and you want to vent your eye pain somewhere, you can poke this simulated eye. https://code.sololearn.com/WkjYmMJ025jn
