I suppose you want to arrange even and odd numbers separately in a nested list. Instead of for loops it uses 2 comprehensions. This can be done also like this:

nums = [3,1,4,9,8,5,6,7,2]
out = []
out.append([x for x in sorted(nums) if x%2 == 0])
out.append([y for y in sorted(nums) if y%2 != 0])
print(out) # [[2, 4, 6, 8], [1, 3, 5, 7, 9]]
