Why and how download python?

Question

I just started python 3 tutorials and sololearn adviced that for me to be able to code and run python on my system I'll have to download python .Please what exactly does Sololearn mean by I should download python from python.org?....I went there and there are so many python downloads I don't know which I am to download.....I also I want to know the need of these python downloads...Please I need guidance

You propably got on this page:

And are wondering about the Files table.
Keep eye on the Version bar.

If you are using Windows system, then you will naturally search for versions which start with Windows.

The values:
x86-64, x86

Tell about the bitsystem.
x68-64 -> 64bit system
x68 -> 32bit system

And the rest is just about the method of installation.
Maybe executable installer is the simpliest.
