how do i download java?

Question

I have the java toolkit and all but my question is, do I have to download an ide separately?
If yes, which is ide do you think is the best?

PS: I am not a beginner. So, I want to program in an ide other than bluej.

An IDE manages your programs and helps you save them in hierarchical order which is difficult when you make use of an editor and save files.
Another reason you should have it because it does compilation and helps you debug your code easily.

Eclipse is one of the famous IDE's used in the industry and I would recommend it since I personally use it. But you can use any IDE to begin with.
